DC Chinese Lunar New Year Parade

Washington, DC’s Chinese Lunar New Year Parade filled Chinatown with traditional lion and dragon dances, firecrackers, music, and colorful performances celebrating the Year of the Horse. Despite steady rain, the streets remained full of energy as performers and spectators carried on with the celebration. I photographed the parade as it unfolded, capturing the movement, color, and community spirit that the weather couldn’t dampen.
